One of the first ones that someone did that for was Squidoo.   There are many who have done so, but the first was Bob Jenkins, who has given himself the Username of Bob The Teacher, because at the time he was a teacher, but has since retired from teaching children and is now teaching others the best way to use Squidoo.  He has also written The Best Advertising Money Can’t Buy.  This will be looked at in more depth in a later post.

Another Web 2.0 site that others have written programs for is Twitter.  With MySpace, FaceBook etc you subscribe and are given a link for you to give others so that they can interact with you and that is it.   But Squidoo encourages you to produce many, what they call lens, and give the individual links to others and Twitter allows you to have more than one account.  The link given above was my initial one, but I now have another one about Health.

Initially all you could do on Social Networking sites, Forums, etc was interact with others and were not allowed to advertise your programs and if you did you were removed and banned from using the site.   But others thought that this was unfair and unworkable and set up sites for Internet Marketers so that they could tell others what they to offer.    All these sites remained free, but you were not able to make money from them.  Again others thought this was unfair, particualarly when they saw how much money the owners were making using Content provided by their subscribers.

This lead first one, then another, to attempt to monetize their Social Networking sites, but not manage to do so, for one reason or another.    One of the latest to try to do it was My Music Ticket, but again they were not able to bring it to fruition.   All the above were the Brian Child of only one, or at the most two people, but My Music Ticket was not, many were and are involved with it production, some of whom were constructing their own program and have now launched it, that is as far as those who had previously subscribed to My Music Ticket.  It will not be launched to the general public until next month, but those who have already joined have been given permission to tell others about it.

First off, we’ll start with a description of exactly what the NakedPLR.com site really is.  It’s tagged as a site that gives you 4-5 new private label rights products each and every month.  These are eBooks on niches that have been researched and are hot topics.

You see people selling sales letter software that doesn’t offer the results this template does for upwards of $200 or more but it’s included in your NakedPLR.com membership.

Bonus PLR’s

This section is loaded with over a dozen products with rights that you can use to start selling right away for immediate profits.

Most of these products come complete with sales letters and graphics and are ready to roll.

The cool thing is that you can use some of the tactics that you’ve learned in the training material provided in the training section and further customize these existing products.

But as more and more people wanted to join in those who already had products to sell set up Affiliate Programs, which meant that others did the advertising and only got paid when someone bought from the person they were an affiliate to.

With affiliate programs the affiliate only gets a percentage of what is made by the sell.   And the owner has to arrange payment to them.   The next step was Resell Rights, where the producer sells what they have produced and those who buy it get 100% of the profit.    There are various levels, some only sell .pdf document which they buyer cannot alter and which comes with affiliate links in it which belong to the seller.

But some provide a Branding Tool that allows the buyer to put there links in, but not make other changes.

But some are sold with complete rights to do whatever you like with it.   When this is the case the Word Document is always included.   Many people just make them into .pdf documents and sell them.  But this is not the best way to do so.   The graphics should be changed, together with the title.   You should read them and both change and add to what is there.   In other words make them your own.

They have been around for some time, but to begin with the only people who were asked to contribute were those who had large subscriber bases, which meant that the person who was just starting out was not able to participate. But this is now changing in that everyone is invited to participate with their gift being placed higher up the more people who subscribe to the promotion through their affiliate link.  

Many of the new ones invite contributors to recruit JV Partners, which means that they benefit from the efforts of those who have signed on under them. This means that their gift is further up where more people can see it and therefore more people can choose it and thus build their list faster.

One of the first ones I joined was Brett Ingram’s Viral Marketing Giveaway. He noted that initially people got a lot of subscribers but as time went on it slowed down to a trickle. He thought that the answer was to do a series of promotions. He invited people who were already on his mailing list to upgrade and promised to let them know when the next one was being started so that they could advertise it before anyone else was told and get a lot of subscribers so that their contribution was on the first 2 pages. He has restricted the number of people he is allowed in.

One of the most prolific organisers of these is Henry Gold. If you sign up for this blog you will be informed the next time he is running one. He also runs Training Programmes. These are usually run in conjunction with Socrates Socratus, whose speciality is selling ebooks on EBay.

Some of them only run for a few days, whereas others continue to run. Some will only allow people to contribute what they have done themselves, whereas others allow you to contribute anything as long as you have permission to give it away.   In other words you can buy material you have Resell Rights to.   We will look at the different Resell Rights in another post.

Giveaways are all slightly different.    These will be noted as we look at them, starting with Brett Ingram.

We advertise to Brand Ourselves and:
Bring our site to the attend of the Search Engines
There were too many people placing ads for people to respond.

The more we advertised the more we were likely to get people to our website.

We were advised not to use places were others were advertising because they could have their advert clicked instead of ours.   Choose from one or more of the lists we would find out the Backoffice.

These included:

Craigslists,
Classifieds,
Ezines,
News Releases,
Blogs,
Social Networking.

There were other places to advertise and we were asked to let others know if we found some where good.   The place to do this was in the Forum, where we would also find messages from the Management Team, recordings of the Training, and much more.

We were also reminded that the whole reason for any of it was to build our list and it is at one of the best ways to do so that we look in the next post.

Keyword Research is paramount when you are doing this. You have to see:

1. What keywords people are using
2. What the competition is.

1. If people are not searching for it there is no point in optimizing for it.

2. If really established firms have optimized for it there is no way you will be able to replace them and it will be pointless do so.

The next thing to do is much the same as you when you were looking for Submittion Engines and that is put the keywords you have chosen into Google add Blog and then look at those who come up and see if they fit in with what you want to promote and if they do leave a comment, inviting the owner to look at your blog.

He said that they might delete it, but again they might be interested and contact you.

Looking at those blogs that are on the first 2 pages of Google using the keyword you selected can give you ideas for your own.

We were also told that more was going to be added but that unlike other programs the price of $30.00 a month was not going up.   What they were going to provide was additional programs so that those who did not want to join GCTR could use to promote other programs.   We will be returning to this in a later post.

Another thing that was going to be added was a blog facility with everyone being able to write their own.

We were told that this was a software program that Google, MSN, Yahoo, etc had devised and had programmed in what they wanted the Spider to search for.    We have no way of knowing exactly what they were told to search for, but do know that backlinks was one of them.   And the other seems to be content.

Ben then told us that he had told us to place ads in where he had told us to on Day 2 so that we knew how it was done, but we couldn’t continue to do this because each more ads had to be placed in different programs each day, so that by the time we had reached Day 15 we would be spending up to 6 hours daily doing this.   The only way forward was to go to Google and type in Classified Submission Service and choose one of the services that come up.  He advised us not to spend more than $30.00 a month and to look for ones that submitted to a large number of classified sites.

Then do the same for Press Releases and Social sites.   Which brings us back to and this is the same as ….. teaches.   Another program I have recently joined told me about a program which gives you a list of Social Bookmarking sites to join and once you have done so you download a piece of software on to your toolbar and when you have put another post on your blog you click it and tell all of them that you have done so.   More about this in another post.

On Day 3 another form of Branding Yourself was mentioned.   This was Article Marketing.   This has been around for some time and has been used to good effect by a lot of people.    But once again we were told it is means of Branding Yourself and getting a good place in the Search Engines.    Which brings us to the topic of:

Search Engine Optimization:   You will not see this mentioned too often before encountering the name Brad Callen.   He has recently recently released a lot of his software and information on how to achieve it.   This will be the subject of another post.

The last thing mentioned on Day 3 was Blogs and this is the subject of the next post.
