G C T Resources Week of Training Day 3

On Day 3 we were reminded that when we placed ads we should not expect anyone to answer them, as there were too many people placing classified ads press releases etc.   The aim was to get the Search Engine Spiders to note that our name and  web site were all over the internet and that a lot of high ranking web sites had backlinks to our site.

We were told that this was a software program that Google, MSN, Yahoo, etc had devised and had programmed in what they wanted the Spider to search for.    We have no way of knowing exactly what they were told to search for, but do know that backlinks was one of them.   And the other seems to be content.

Ben then told us that he had told us to place ads in where he had told us to on Day 2 so that we knew how it was done, but we couldn’t continue to do this because each more ads had to be placed in different programs each day, so that by the time we had reached Day 15 we would be spending up to 6 hours daily doing this.   The only way forward was to go to Google and type in Classified Submission Service and choose one of the services that come up.  He advised us not to spend more than $30.00 a month and to look for ones that submitted to a large number of classified sites.

Then do the same for Press Releases and Social sites.   Which brings us back to and this is the same as ….. teaches.   Another program I have recently joined told me about a program which gives you a list of Social Bookmarking sites to join and once you have done so you download a piece of software on to your toolbar and when you have put another post on your blog you click it and tell all of them that you have done so.   More about this in another post.

On Day 3 another form of Branding Yourself was mentioned.   This was Article Marketing.   This has been around for some time and has been used to good effect by a lot of people.    But once again we were told it is means of Branding Yourself and getting a good place in the Search Engines.    Which brings us to the topic of:

Search Engine Optimization:   You will not see this mentioned too often before encountering the name Brad Callen.   He has recently recently released a lot of his software and information on how to achieve it.   This will be the subject of another post.

The last thing mentioned on Day 3 was Blogs and this is the subject of the next post.
